So, What Is Kata?

It teaches:
Form– how to move with power and precision
Timing– when to strike, block or shift
Focus– the mental side of martial arts
Tradition– each Kata has deep historical roots
At ourkarate classes in Aberdeen, we teach Kata to all ages – from young beginners to black belts polishing their technique. Kids love the patterns and structure, while adults appreciate the mindfulness and balance it brings.
